HEAD TRAUMA:


Because problems caused by a head injury may not always be noticed at first, it is important to follow these instructions:

You should not take any medications that cause drowsiness or sleepiness unless they have been prescribed by your doctor.

Do not drink alcohol.

Do not drive or operate heavy equipment until your doctor says it is ok.


SEEK MEDICAL CARE IMMEDIATELY FOR ANY OF THE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS:

Trouble answering simple questions (What day is it? What happened to you? Etc.)

Trouble waking up all the way.

Headache that is getting worse even after taking Tylenol.

Changes in how you act or not knowing your family or friends.

Frequent or forceful vomiting.

Pupils that are different sizes, one larger than the other or no reaction to light (Pupils are the black center in the middle of the eye.)

Stumbling or other problems with walking.

Arms or legs that feel weak.

Double vision.

Slurred speech.

Seizures (convulsions)

Drainage from ears, nose or mouth

Loss of control of bladder or bowel
